“Sycophant” by Pseudo Nick Drake – Writing through “Parasite” by Nick Drake

Raising the veil of a regional fool
Feeling dispirited like him
Observing the glow in a station buffet
And wandering notably in crime
Floating down to the boreal line
Regarding the polish of the boots
And detecting the hearing of the characters there
Who’s to mind if they fail.
And take a glance you may notice me in the dirt
For I am the sycophant of this thorp.
Rocking a hop in a temple with bells
A mark of the events now
And harking no siren from a tower high
Folks all in dread
Sinking so distant on a shimmering scoop
Making the crescent for play
And adjusting a cord for an extent too short
Folks all get dangling.
Take a peep and mind me breaking through
For I am the freeloader, who goes two by two.
Raising the veil of a regional fool
Feeling dispirited like him
Observing the glow in a station buffet
And wandering notably in crime
Floating down to the boreal line
Regarding the polish of the boots
And detecting the hearing of the characters there
Who’s to mind if they fail.
And take a glance you may notice me in the dirt
For I am the sycophant of this thorp.
And take a glance you may notice me in the dust
For I am the freeloader, who dangles from your kilt.
